Single vision lenses are lenses that have just one dioptric effect across the entire lens surface. The eyes provide the adjustment of sharpness for different distances. The dioptric effect of single vision lenses are optimized for a specific distance only with reading glasses.
With highly break-resistant lens materials and aspheric surface designs, today it is possible to manufacture aesthetically light and thin lenses, even for very strong prescriptions. The different designs are described below.
The Hilux Design has a spheric surface with a constant curvature radius across the entire lens surface.
Aspheric lenses -the Nulux Design - offer a wide, distortion-free field of vision. The radius of aspheric lenses changes constantly from the geometric centre. The lenses are flatter and thinner and there is less distortion at the edges of the lenses. A major advantage of the Nulux Design is that there is a reduction in the effect of lenses magnifying, respectively minimizing the appearance of the eyes.
The Nulux Active Design has resulted from a new, innovative technology. The lens has an aspheric surface. The Nulux Active is a unifocal lens with a functional accommodation support of +0.53dpt and/or +0.88dpt. This support makes it easy for the eyes to adjust to different distances and ensures fatigue-free, relaxed vision.
Lenses with the Nulux EP Design are double-aspheric lenses which ensure sharp vision across the entire lens surface and in all directions. Nulux EP lenses were evaluated and manufactured in accordance with the Freeform principle. This makes it possible to determine all details with precision and to incorporate them into the lens design.
